Text the leads in your Google Sheet

Paste the link to a Google Sheet that anyone with the link can view, pick the tab, and Textually imports the rows into a list with the same column matching and consent check as a CSV. Refresh from sheet later to bring in rows added since. Then push the list into a text sequence.

How do I text contacts from a Google Sheet?

Share the sheet so anyone with the link can view it, paste the link when you import a list in Textually, and choose the tab. Each row becomes a lead with your columns kept as they are.

  • Phone is the column a text goes to. Run the phone type check on it to tag landlines and numbers that are not in service, so a text step skips them.
  • Your own columns stay on the list, and any of them can go into a text as a field, such as {{First name}} or {{Address}}.
  • Consent columns, a source and a date, give a row its consent record. Rows without one come in but a text step skips them, unless you confirm consent for the whole campaign at launch.

Can I keep the list up to date with the sheet?

Yes. Refresh from sheet reads the sheet again and adds the rows added since the last import, so a form that writes to a sheet can keep feeding the same list.

Textually reads only the sheet’s shared export. It never asks you to sign in to Google and never writes to the sheet.

Guides on this topic

Questions.

Does the sheet have to be public?

It has to be shared so anyone with the link can view it. Textually reads that shared copy and nothing else in your Google account.

Will rows be texted as soon as they import?

No. An import only fills a list. Nobody is texted until you push the list into a campaign and launch it.

Is there a size limit?

The same as a CSV upload: up to 10 MB per import, within your plan’s row limit.
